
CRIME: BANDITS KILL 12 FARMERS IN SOKOTO COMMUNITY
At Lugu town in the Isa Local Government area of Sokoto state, terrorists purportedly commanded by Bello Turji, a highly wanted bandit boss, were reported to have killed at least twelve people.
According to a number of individuals who spoke to reporters, the infamous bandits brutally killed the farmers as they were leaving one of the settlements in Isa for a Sallah visit.
Police officials in Sokoto had declined to comment on the occurrences, claiming that they had no right to discuss security developments in the area because of an ongoing military joint operation.
When contacted, the Army at the 8th Division referred Channels Television to the Theatre Command of the Operation FASAN YAMMA, who is yet to respond to journalist’s request on the unfortunate attack.

However, a legislator in the state House of Assembly who represents Sabon Birni stated that while several people told him about the incident, there is no proof that Bello Turji paid any visits to local communities to celebrate Sallah.
According to him, there was a rumor that Bello Turji intended to visit the Eastern region of Gataws for the celebration of Sallah, but the community’s quick response by alerting security guards stopped that from happening, which may have been the cause of Turji’s outburst against defenseless farmers.
