Prominent individuals from various parts of the country convened at Olivet Baptist High School in Oyo on Saturday for the official coronation of the 46th Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Abimbola Owoade I.
The momentous ceremony attracted an array of esteemed guests such as President Bola Tinubu’s representative, Minister of Power Chief Adebayo Adelabu; Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde; former Deputy Governor Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja; Speaker of the State House of Assembly Rt. Hon. Debo Ogundoyin; and Senator Yunus Akintunde of Oyo South, alongside other dignitaries.
Oba Abimbola Owoade I, the new Alaafin of Oyo, appeared alongside his wife, Abiwumi Owoade.
The event also saw a strong royal presence, including respected kings like the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi; the Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye; and the Oluwo of Iwo, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, enhancing the ceremony’s cultural significance.

Governor Seyi Makinde also graced the coronation ceremony of Oba Abimbola Owoade I with his presence.
Gani Adams, the Aare Ona Kakanfo of Oyo Town, was present at the coronation of Oba Abimbola Owoade I.
The Soun of Ogbomoso, Oba Ghandi Olaoye, was among the royal attendees at the coronation of Oba Abimbola Owoade I.
