
PICTORIAL, VIDEO: DABIRI-EREWA HONOURED IN THE KINGDOM OF SAUDI ARABIA
Abuja, April 7, 2025: Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), has been awarded another doctorate degree by Smart Island University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in recognition of her humanitarian services and pioneering efforts in diaspora development.
The award was presented to her in Saudi Arabia by the University’s Registrar, Dr. Mohammed Dhaidan Al-Mutairi, who praised her diligence and persistence. He explained that the honor was given to her for her significant contributions to humanitarian and diaspora affairs.
The Registrar also noted that the university currently has almost 90 Nigerian students enrolled in various programs. He acknowledged her efforts in advancing diaspora relations and other humanitarian initiatives and expressed the university’s intention to deepen its relationship with Nigeria, including the potential establishment of a campus in the country.
In receiving the award, Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa thanked the institution for conferring the doctorate degree on her and expressed her appreciation to the Association of Nigerians in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their role in mobilizing Nigerians to project the positive image of the country.
A date for the formal conferment will be announced later in the year.
