BONIFACE MISSES BAYERN LEVERKUSEN’S TRAINING
Victor Boniface was absent from Bayern Leverkusen’s training session on Tuesday due to illness, but the Nigerian could be back in time for their clash against Union Berlin in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
According to Bild, Boniface was absent from the training session due to illness.
Bild also suggested that Boniface should be fully fit by Saturday and is in contention to be named in Bayer Leverkusen’s matchday squad to face Union Berlin.
One of the first names on manager Xabi Alonso’s team sheet in the first three months of the 2024-2025 season, the Super Eagles forward lost his spot in the starting lineup after recovering from a hamstring injury he sustained while on international duty back in November.
Having started the last two Bundesliga games, Boniface appears to be back in Xabi Alonso’s plans after a failed move to the Saudi Arabian team Al Nassr in the January transfer window.
Despite his limited playing opportunities since the start of 2025, the Nigerian has registered four goal involvements (three goals, one assist) in ten appearances.
Bayern Leverkusen’s 1-0 win over Heidenheim last weekend saw them close the gap on table-toppers Bayern Munich to six points with six games remaining.
