KEBBI GOVT ANNOUNCES RESCUE OF ABDUCTED STUDENT
Three individuals were slain Wednesday night in the Mbasombo hamlet in Benue State’s Gwer East Local Government Area by suspected armed herders.
People in the village were attacked by the roving herdsmen when they broke into the area late on Wednesday morning.
This occurs less than twenty-four hours after suspected armed herders in the state’s Gwer West LG killed two persons.
Under cover of darkness, the alleged marauding herdsmen invaded the village, according to a villager who only identified himself as Abraham.
Commissioner of Police Sani Bello provided more information, stating that after constant pressure from the police, the kidnappers left the student.
Additionally, he attested that no ransom was paid.
Professor Zaiyan Muhammad, the vice chancellor, urged well-meaning people to help the institution solve the hostel shortage, citing the problem of insufficient dorm accommodations that has compelled many students to live off campus.
Both the state government and the police assured that security around the university and its surroundings would be further strengthened.
