UPDATE: POLICE RESCUE ABDUCTED EBONYI GOVT OFFICIAL, ARREST ONE SUSPECT
After being held captive in the kidnapers’ cave for five days, the coordinator of the Ngbo Central Development Center in the Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State has been released.
Last Thursday, Blessing Adagba was kidnapped in her village of Okposhi Eheku community by unidentified gunmen.
SP Joshua Ukandu, the police spokesperson for Ebonyi State, confirmed her release over the phone on Wednesday evening, stating that the Nigeria Police Force officers and men in the state were responsible for her release.
He also mentioned that following the victim’s release on Tuesday night, one of the suspects was taken into custody during the tracking process.
“The victim was released Tuesday night. During the tracking of the suspects, after the release of the victim, we were able to arrest one of the syndicates.
“We hope that the arrest of suspect will help our men in fishing out the rest of the gang,” Ukandu said.
