A video of Nollywood actresses Laide Bakare and Eniola Badmus fighting at a recent film launch has gone viral online.
The actresses were caught in the middle of a heated debate that nearly turned into a brawl at the premiere of their coworker Eniola Ajao’s Owambe Thieves.
The video shows Eniola entering the event while Laide approaches her and yells at her, but she ignores him.

In 2023, Eniola and Laide had a falling-out that played out publicly after Eniola made a sarcastic remark about Laide’s unusual outfit at her book launch, comparing it to that of Pastor Adejara — a comment that didn’t go down well with Laide. Known for speaking her mind, Laide fired back, accusing Eniola and some of her peers of ignoring her achievements but being quick to highlight her flaws.
In response, Eniola reminded Laide of past hurtful comments she had made — particularly mocking her for not having a child or family, and for her political support of President Tinubu during the elections. Eniola warned her not to underestimate her, making it clear she’s not afraid of confrontation.
The rift surprised many, especially since the two had recently reconnected at an event in Abuja. Laide had posted cheerful photos on Instagram, calling Eniola her “once upon a time” friend and expressing joy at meeting up with her again, even referring to her as a “big girl.”
