BREAKING: REMO STARS CLINCH FIRST NPFL TITLE AFTER BEATING TORNADOES 1-0
Remo Stars have been crowned champions of the 2024/2025 Nigeria Premier Football League after a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Niger Tornadoes in Ikenne on Sunday.
Substitute Olamilekan Adedayo broke the deadlock with a stunning late strike in the 83rd minute, sealing a crucial win for coach Daniel Ogunmodede’s side after prolonged pressure.
The victory, their 21st of the season, pushed Remo Stars to 68 points, creating an unassailable 10-point lead over second-placed Rivers United with three games still remaining.
With the historic achievement, Remo Stars also became the first club from Nigeria’s Southwest region to lift the topflight title since Julius Berger’s triumph in 1991.
