“HE GOT MARRIED FOR NIGERIANS’ RECOGNITION AND HEADIES AWARD” PRISCILLA OJO CLAPS BACK AT X USER OVER HUSBAND JUMA JUX’S HEADIES AWARD WIN
Nigerian influencer and newlywed Priscilla Ojo has spoken out in support of her husband, Juma Jux, following criticism over his Headies Award win.
The 17th edition of the prestigious ceremony took place on Sunday evening at the Landmark Event Centre in Lagos. Juma Jux, who attended the event alongside Priscilla, received the award for Best East African Artiste of the Year. During his acceptance speech, he expressed gratitude to God, his wife, his management team, family, fans (JP lovers), and the organisers for acknowledging East African music.
However, a Twitter user named Oku Yungx suggested that Jux’s marriage to Priscilla was a strategic move to gain fame and win awards in Nigeria.
“Lmao. The game is the game”, the tweep wrote.
Defending him, Priscilla sarcastically said her husband got married for Nigerian recognition and the Headies Award. She affirmed that the game is the game as she gave a shout-out to Juma, whom she described as a smart, calculative, and hardworking man.
Priscilla expressed how lucky she was to have him and praised their fans for voting.
“Yes, o, he got married for Nigerians recognition and the Headies Award. The game is the game, my brother. Shout-out to my husband, such a smart, calculative, and hardworking man. I’m so lucky. Big love to JP fans for voting. We love you.”
Another Twitter user slamming Priscilla told her not to start what she can’t finish as she noted how Twitter users don’t have joy.
“You better don’t start what you can’t finish, my love; Twitter people don’t get joy o”.
Responding to the tweep, Priscilla said she was clearly praising her husband and supporting the statement.
“Abibah, I’m clearly praising my husband and supporting the statement, “The game is the game; there is nothing to start and finish here. “
Towards the end of last year, Juma Jux was honored with the Best Artist/Group Eastern Africa 2024 award at the Jaylia Awards in Côte d’Ivoire. During his acceptance speech, he warmly acknowledged and praised his partner, Priscilla.
In response to his win, Priscilla expressed her deep admiration for Juma, emphasizing her love for his kind nature. She congratulated him and described him as a genuinely good-hearted man.
Juma also received blessings from his mother-in-law, Iyabo Ojo, who offered a heartfelt prayer for more success and future wins.
On Thursday, April 17th, Priscilla married Juma in a traditional ceremony that drew a host of prominent figures, including Governor Ademola Adeleke, Chief Ebenezer Obey, Mercy Aigbe, Toyin Abraham, Peter Okoye of Psquare, Odunlade Adekola, Femi Adebayo, Sola Sobowale, Ruth Kadiri, Mercy Eke, Mide Martins, Destiny Etiko, and others.
Two days later, they celebrated their white wedding at a beachfront location in Lagos, attended by a select group of celebrities.
Their wedding journey began earlier in February with an intimate introduction ceremony in Tanzania attended by close family and friends. On the day before Valentine’s Day, the couple held their civil wedding, which was graced by the likes of Toyin Abraham, Chioma Good Hair, and Enioluwa.
