“HE ISN’T GOOD IN FASHION” – NETIZENS REACT AS X USER MOCKS BURNA BOY’S 2025 MET GALA OUTFIT
Grammy-winning artist Burna Boy faced online criticism over his outfit at the 2025 Met Gala.
Held on Monday, May 6, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute in New York, this year’s Met Gala celebrated Black male fashion under the theme “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style.”
Burna Boy, making his second appearance at the event, wore a red tuxedo paired with an oxblood eelskin cape. His look was crafted by renowned designer Ozwald Boateng, the first Black tailor to open a store on London’s prestigious Savile Row.
However, reactions online were mixed. One user on X (formerly Twitter) mockingly likened the color of his outfit to the antibiotic Tetracycline.

The Grammy-winning star continues to elevate Africa’s presence on the global stage with his bold performances and distinctive voice. Notably, he was the only African artist featured on the official 2024 Grammy cover, appearing among top American and British music figures.
In 2023, Burna Boy made international headlines when he performed live at the opening of the UEFA Champions League final. His energetic set, featuring hits like the global anthem Last Last, captivated millions of football fans worldwide.
Reflecting on the experience, Burna Boy described the moment as “sitting on top of the world.”
