Paris Saint-Germain forward Ousmane Dembélé was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year on Sunday, after playing a pivotal role in PSG’s 13th league title win and helping guide the club to the UEFA Champions League final.

Dembélé leads the Ligue 1 scoring chart this season with 21 goals and has netted 33 times in 46 appearances across all competitions, including eight in European play.

He takes over the honour from Kylian Mbappé, who previously won the award five consecutive times before his move to Real Madrid last season.

PSG boss Luis Enrique was also recognized, winning Coach of the Year at the UNFP (French players’ union) Trophies gala.

Rennes’ Désiré Doué claimed the Best Young Player award.

Lille’s Lucas Chevalier prevented a PSG sweep, edging out Gianluigi Donnarumma to win Best Goalkeeper.

PSG are aiming for a treble this season, with a Champions League final against Inter Milan on May 31, following their French Cup final clash with Reims.
