A suspected bandit was neutralized during a clearance operation in Karim Lamido LGA, Taraba State. According to Acting Brigade Spokesperson Captain Oni Olubodunde, the operation followed a strategic visit to the Bandawa community by Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa, Commander of the 6 Brigade.

The Commander emphasized increasing military presence and taking proactive steps to secure the area. Troops on patrol along the Bandawa–Karim Lamido road in Taraba State, acting on a commander’s directive, engaged and killed an armed bandit, recovering an AK-47 rifle and 39 rounds of ammunition. The operation reflects the Brigade’s commitment to combating crime in the region. Separately, a peace meeting was held on May 12, 2025, to ease tensions between communities in Taraba and Benue States.

The ongoing clashes in the region have led to attacks on motorists along the Kashimbila–Jato Aka road. The leadership of the 6 Brigade has encouraged citizens to continue providing timely and reliable information to support military and peacekeeping efforts in Taraba State.
