Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Ayodeji Balogun, widely known as Wizkid, has made history by becoming the first African musician to exceed an estimated 20 billion global audio on-demand streams.
This milestone was confirmed by international music tracking platform Chart Masters, which reported that the combined streams of songs where Wizkid appears as either the lead or a featured artist have crossed the 20 billion mark.
His most streamed track is One Dance by Canadian artist Drake, featuring Wizkid and Kyla. The song has amassed over 3.628 billion streams on Spotify and holds a Guinness World Record as the first song to reach 1 billion streams on the platform.
Wizkid is also the first African artist to earn the Brit Billion Award, which recognizes artists who surpass one billion audio streams in the UK.
With over 65 million units sold globally, Wizkid stands as the highest-selling Afrobeats artist in the world.
