
CRIME: EFCC ARRESTS 120 SUSECTED FRAUDSTERS, SEIZES 26 VEHICLES IN LAGOS
In Lagos State, 120 people have been taken into custody by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on suspicion of online fraud.
The coordinated operation was carried out at multiple sites in the state by operatives from the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1, according to a statement released on Monday via the commission’s official X feed.
26 exotic cars were found during the investigation, along with expensive jewellery, cell phones, laptops, and a number of damning documents.
95 men and 25 women were among those detained; they were all caught on suspicion of engaging in cybercrimes after extensive surveillance and reliable intelligence.
The anti-graft agency noted that all suspects are currently undergoing further investigation and will be charged in court upon the conclusion of the investigative process.
