
EARLY MORNING BLAZE DESTROYS RESIDENTIAL BUILDING IN ERUWA, OYO

In Eruwa, Oyo State, a residential building was damaged by fire, resulting in the destruction of properties valued at millions of naira.
Early on Monday morning, the event took place at the Ayeyewa Compound, Towobowo Anko in Eruwa.
Before men from the state fire service were called, the fire was reported to have burned for over an hour.
It affected a private residence with six rooms and a Boyz quarters.
In a statement confirming the occurrence, Oyo State Fire Service Chairman Maroof Akinwande claimed that the agency’s men had received a distress call on Monday, but insisted that no one had been killed.
“On Monday 19th May, 2025, the agency received the distress call at exactly 03:08hrs. The fire personnel led by ACFS Adegoke swiftly deployed to the scene of the fire incident and on getting there, it was a private residential building of six rooms and a Boyz – Quarters met well alight.
“We quickly swung into action and restricted the fire from spreading to nearby buildings and properties. To our dismay, the fire had been burning for more than an hour before the Fire Service was called.
“No casualty was recorded but properties worth millions were destroyed by the fire”.
