According to Babajide Sanwo-Olu, the governor of Lagos State, his administration would keep using sports as a tool for social inclusion, engagement, and change.

According to a statement released by his chief press secretary, Gboyega Akosile, on X, Sanwo-Olu made this claim when he accepted the English Premier League trophy.

At the Lagos House, Marina, on Sunday, Girish Sharma, the Managing Director/CEO of Guinness Nigeria PLC, formally presented the trophy to the governor.

The Premier League trophy being brought to Lagos, according to Sanwo-Olu, who spoke during the occasion, demonstrated that “there is something positive about our followership, enthusiasm, and the development of sports in our country, but more importantly in Lagos.”

The governor, on his X handle, said he had a good conversation about sports and collaboration.
