KADUNA WOMAN ARRAIGNED IN COURT FOR STABBING BOYFRIEND WITH KNIFE

A 23-year-old woman named Abigail Victor appeared in a Kaduna Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, accused of stabbing her boyfriend.

Abigail, who lives in Ungwan Sunday, Kaduna, is being charged with conspiracy and causing bodily harm.

According to the Prosecutor, Inspector Chidi Leo, the incident occurred on May 17 in Sabon Tasha, Kaduna.

Leo stated that Abigail, along with two accomplices who are still at large, allegedly assaulted her boyfriend, Dominic James, and stabbed him in the shoulder with a knife.

The prosecutor added that the altercation stemmed from a disagreement, during which Abigail accused Dominic of infidelity.

“In the process, she called two of her friends who came to the complainant’s house, beat him up and stabbed him.

“It took the intervention of neighbours who came to the aid of the complainant and rushed him to a hospital.

“The offences contravene Sections 58 and 284 of the Penal Code of Kaduna State, 2017.

“Section 58 attracts a one-year prison term if found guilty, while Section 284 attracts a prison term of not less than five years if found guilty,” he said.

Abigail pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The Magistrate, Ibrahim Emmanuel, granted bail to the defendant in the sum of N200,000 with one surety in like sum.

He said the surety must be a blood relation to the defendant and must present three years tax clearance by the Kaduna State Government.

Emmanuel adjourned the case until June 17 for hearing.
