Days after Priscilla’s white wedding in Nigeria, Iyabo Ojo sent a message to her Tanzanian in-laws, warning them to prepare as Nigerians were arriving to make a strong impression and didn’t come to play.
Following the celebrations, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) summoned Ojo to question her about the spraying of money during her daughter’s wedding. She revealed that the commission showed her videos from the event where guests were spraying both naira and foreign currencies, and asked if she was aware that the practice was illegal. Ojo explained that she believed only the abuse or mutilation of the naira was an offense, and the commission then clarified the law to her.
