The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), under the directive of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, on Monday sealed the National Secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Abuja over unpaid ground rent.

At precisely 2:06 p.m., FCTA officials arrived at Wadata Plaza, the PDP’s national headquarters in Wuse Zone 5, and locked the main entrance gate, effectively shutting down operations at the opposition party’s headquarters.

The enforcement action comes just one day after the FCTA announced its intention to begin reclaiming properties whose land titles were revoked due to non-payment of ground rent. The administration had earlier revoked 4,794 land titles across the FCT, citing debts dating back 10 to 43 years.

The PDP secretariat was among the high-profile properties listed in the revocation, with the FCTA stressing that the move was part of its broader drive to recover over N6 billion owed in ground rent arrears and enforce compliance with land use regulations.

The sealing of the PDP headquarters marks a significant development in the FCTA’s ongoing crackdown on defaulters, reinforcing its commitment to uphold statutory obligations related to land tenure in the nation’s capital.
