TWO KIDNAP VICTIMS RESCUED UNHARMED IN IGEDE CREEK, IKORODU AS POLICE FOIL ABDUCTION

In a major breakthrough, the Lagos State Police Command has announced the successful rescue of two residents abducted from the Igede Creek side of Ijede, Ikorodu, Lagos. The victims, who were kidnapped from their homes located deep within the creek settlement two days ago, were released unhurt following a meticulously coordinated rescue operation.

According to a statement released by the Command’s Spokesman, CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, the distress call was received around 10:00 p.m. at the Ijede Police Division. Gunshots had been reported in the vicinity of the Igbe Creek Side settlement, prompting immediate and strategic deployment of law enforcement personnel. Responding swiftly, over fifteen police tactical teams, detectives, conventional officers, as well as local vigilantes and hunters, were mobilized to the area.

Acting on the orders of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Olohundare Jimoh, a robust and elaborate rescue mission was initiated. The joint operation strategically sealed off all possible entry and escape routes in the creeks and surrounding forest. This coordinated effort placed significant pressure on the kidnappers, ultimately leading to the safe release of the victims by 10:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 25, 2025.

The rescued victims have since been reunited with their families, while ongoing efforts to apprehend the perpetrators continue. Security operatives remain deployed in the area, combing the terrain to prevent further attacks and ensure lasting safety for residents of the Ijede Creek and surrounding communities.

The Lagos State Police Command lauded the bravery and swift response of its officers and acknowledged the crucial role played by the local vigilantes, hunters, and community members. Despite the difficult and risky terrain of the creeks and forest, their collective determination proved decisive in the success of the mission.
