President Bola Tinubu has reiterated his administration’s commitment to ensuring the security and safety of all Nigerians in a statement released on Thursday, coinciding with the second anniversary of his leadership.

A strong and effective national security infrastructure is essential for safeguarding lives and property, which in turn supports optimal economic performance and helps prevent those who wish to harm us from disrupting our way of life.

President Tinubu emphasized that the primary focus of his administration is to protect the citizens and their way of life. He highlighted enhancements in the cooperation among security agencies, the increase in intelligence-led operations, and the improved welfare of armed forces personnel. Recognizing the sacrifices of servicemen and women, he acknowledged their often-overlooked contributions to ensuring public safety. He affirmed the commitment of the military, police, and intelligence agencies to address emerging security threats, noting that despite ongoing challenges, there have been notable successes.

In certain regions of the North-West previously dominated by bandit activities, President Tinubu highlighted that the valiant efforts of the armed forces have successfully restored order, significantly diminishing and neutralizing threats to public safety and livelihoods.

With the success achieved, he said, farmers were back tilling the land, and that highways, hitherto dangerous for travelers, had become safer.

“Our security agencies have succeeded many times in rescuing the abducted citizens from the hands of their tormentors.

“I promise you, we shall remain vigilant, as I told security chiefs during the last meeting to up their game and collaborate to end this plague of evil men.

“Every Nigerian deserves to live without fear,” the president reassured.
