Hon. Ahmed Adamu Saba, a member of the Federal House of Representatives representing the Edu//Moro/Patigi constituency of Kwara State, has urgently called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Inspector General of Police Mr. Kayode Egbetokun, and the Director of DSS, among other security agencies, to provide immediate assistance in combating the rising incidents of banditry and kidnapping affecting his constituency.
The lawmaker expressed profound trauma and sadness regarding recent events, extending his condolences to the families, relatives, and friends of the victims. A local lawmaker has urged for calm following recent violence in affected communities, emphasizing a return to peace is imminent. He highlighted alarming incidents, including the murder of a cattle rearer in Tashagi and the abduction of his five children, as well as the kidnapping of a businessman and his manager in Gbugbu. The situation has raised significant safety concerns, with residents experiencing fear and mourning, as kidnappers demand ransom and threaten harm. The lawmaker lamented that local citizens are unable to farm or conduct legitimate business due to the pervasive fear of attacks.

The situation in my constituency has deteriorated to an unacceptable level due to inhumane and criminal activities. Urgent action is required to restore normalcy. The lawmaker has called upon President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and Inspector General of Police Mr. Kayode Egbetokun to urgently address the dire security situation in his constituency, which is plagued by banditry and kidnapping. He labeled these developments as unacceptable and expressed heartfelt sympathy for the affected residents. In his statement, he pledged to work closely with both state and federal authorities to enhance the security of lives and properties in the community and throughout the constituency.
