Latinate Sanusi, a mother of six, has refused to leave her previous married residence, stating that she wants to give her girls the attention they need.

After three divorce decrees, Abdulrazak Yunusa and his ex-wife, Latinate Sanusi, had their divorce formally validated by a Sharia court in Kaduna.

However, pointing to her ex-husband’s claimed disregard for their needs, Sanusi asked to stay in the house to care for their six girls.

“My children are all girls and I intend to stay so that I can take care of all of them; afterall he doesn’t provide most of their needs,” she said.

The husband, however, claimed that he provided for the family and divorced Sanusi on the ground of lack of submission.

After listening to both parties, the Judge, Malam Kabir Muhammad, confirmed the three pronouncements of divorce between the couple, noting that there was no marriage between the couple until the woman remarries.

“What is before me is a suit on confirmation of divorce, the issue of the child’s custody can be filed as a fresh case,” the judge stated.
