IT WILL END IN EMBARRASSMENT — TINUBU SUPPORTERS WARN JONATHAN AGAINST PRESIDENTIAL RACE

Supporters of President Bola Tinubu, operating under the Progressive Network for Tinubu in Ondo State, have cautioned former President Goodluck Jonathan against contesting the 2027 presidential election.
The group warned that Jonathan’s participation in the race would lead to embarrassment.
Issuing the statement on Tuesday, the network asserted that Tinubu faces no significant opposition ahead of the 2027 presidential poll.
The warning comes amid reports that former President Goodluck Jonathan is preparing to contest the 2027 presidential election under a yet-to-be-announced political party.
The media recalls that, following these rumours, legal practitioner Johnmary Jideobi filed a suit on Monday at the Federal High Court in Abuja, seeking a perpetual injunction to prevent Jonathan from participating in the 2027 presidential race.
Speaking on Tuesday during the inauguration of local government structures across Ondo State’s 18 local government areas, the Director-General of the Progressive Network for Tinubu, Olumide Obadele, urged Jonathan to uphold his reputation as a statesman by refraining from the 2027 contest, beyond any legal challenges.
Obadele asserted that opposition parties such as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) are “on life support,” and claimed that no candidate running on their platforms, including Jonathan, stands a chance against President Tinubu.
He also dismissed suggestions that the All Progressives Congress (APC) is unsettled by Jonathan’s rumored ambitions, emphasizing that constitutional and legal barriers make his participation nearly impossible.
“I can assure you that Jonathan will not run at the end of the day. The Constitution is clear on this matter, and there’s no need to misinterpret it. If he insists, he will only face embarrassment and discredit,” Obadele stated.
