A Canadian citizen, identified as Sullivan, was reportedly discovered deceased in his hotel accommodation on Victoria Island, Lagos State, on Tuesday.

This unfortunate event transpired during the early hours of October 7.

An anonymous hotel staff member, who communicated with Vanguard, reported that Sullivan had checked into the establishment on October 2 and was found unresponsive on the floor of his room.

The staff member informed Vanguard that the Chief Security Officer of the hotel (name withheld) notified the Victoria Island Police Division at approximately 4:30 p.m. after attempts to contact the guest proved unsuccessful.

A team of detectives from the division promptly arrived at the location, where they documented and scrutinized the premises.

Police sources indicated that no traces of violence were evident on the deceased’s body, implying that foul play was not a factor at the time of discovery.

The body was subsequently transported to the Lagos Island General Hospital, Marina, where a medical professional verified Sullivan’s passing. His remains have since been placed in the hospital’s morgue for preservation and autopsy.

While initial investigations have not revealed any evidence of homicide, the police have stated that further inquiries are ongoing to determine the precise cause of death.
