NDLEA ARRESTS PRETTY MIKE, EX-BBN HOUSEMATE TUOYO, AND 100 OTHERS IN MIDNIGHT LAGOS CLUB RAID

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arrested Lagos socialite and nightclub owner, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, alongside former Big Brother Naija housemate Tuoyo Ideh, and over 100 guests during a midnight raid at Proxy Nightclub, Victoria Island, Lagos.

According to a statement released on Sunday by the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, Femi Babafemi, the operation was conducted in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, 2025, after operatives acting on credible intelligence infiltrated the club around 11 p.m. on Saturday.

“In Lagos, NDLEA operatives in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, raided Proxy Nightclub at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, where a drug party was going on. Over 100 suspects, including the owner of the club, Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, alias Pretty Mike, were arrested and taken into custody for screening,” the statement read.

Babafemi said cartons of banned substances, including loud (a potent strain of cannabis) and laughing gas (nitrous oxide), were recovered from the venue and the club’s storage area.

Confirming his arrest, Tuoyo took to Instagram to express frustration, claiming that he and others were detained for hours despite not committing any crime.

In a related development, NDLEA operatives intercepted 70 parcels of cocaine weighing 3.6 kilograms concealed inside cocoa butter body cream containers bound for London at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos.

The cargo agent, Lawal Mustapha Olakunle, who presented the consignment for export, was arrested. Two additional suspects Ogunmuyide Taiwo Deborah, a healthcare worker, and Mutiu Adebayo Adebiyi, CEO of a travel agency were later apprehended following investigations.

At the Akanu Ibiam International Airport (AIIA), Enugu, a 35-year-old Lesotho national, Lemena Mark, was arrested for attempting to smuggle 103.59 grams of methamphetamine concealed in a herbal tea pack to the Philippines.

In Kwara State, NDLEA officers seized 21,950 capsules of Tramadol 250mg hidden inside a 100-litre water heater, arresting Umar Abubakar, 40.

Similarly, in Taraba State, Auwal Musa, 26, and Salihu Bala, 22, were arrested with 450,000 pills of Tramadol and Exol-5, concealed in a truck carrying building materials.

Other arrests and seizures across the country included:

162.2kg of skunk seized along the Okene/Lokoja highway in Kogi State.

128kg of cannabis recovered in Keffi, Nasarawa State.

500g of “loud” seized from Oyonumoh Glory Effiong, a mother of two, during a raid in Lekki.

275 litres of “skuchies” a mix of blackcurrant drink, cannabis, and opioids recovered from a suspect in Ikorodu.

A 75-year-old grandfather, Echendu Onuoka, and a 60-year-old woman, Aukana John, arrested with cannabis in Abia State.

150kg of skunk recovered in Ondo State and 234.5kg seized in Kaduna.

At the Seme border, NDLEA officers arrested Jacob Ojugbele with 55kg of cannabis and Amusa Oluwabukola with 121 litres of skuchies.

In Zamfara State, a suspect, Abubakar Ibrahim, 30, was arrested with an AK-47 rifle and 1,746 rounds of ammunition, allegedly en route to Bagega forest.

NDLEA Chairman, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd), commended the operatives for their coordinated efforts, urging them to maintain the agency’s offensive against drug trafficking and abuse nationwide.

“While commending the officers and men across the commands for the arrests and seizures, I urge them to continue with the agency’s balanced approach to drug control and the ongoing War Against

Drug Abuse (WADA) campaign,” Marwa stated.
