Operatives of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kano State Command, have apprehended 11 suspected hoodlums for allegedly attacking residents and a Civil Defence outpost in the Kumbotso Local Government Area of the state.

The suspects were reportedly involved in violent attacks on people and the destruction of property after attending a local traditional festival. According to a statement released on Friday by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, Ibrahim Abdullahi, the rampaging group also stormed the NSCDC outpost in Mariri around 1:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 26, 2025.

The attack left one NSCDC personnel injured. Weapons recovered from the suspects include six cutlasses/swords and a pair of scissors.

Abdullahi confirmed that investigations conducted by the Corps’ Intelligence and Investigation Department have been concluded, and the suspects will be charged in court.

He further reiterated the commitment of the command under the leadership of Commandant Mohammed Agalama to intensify action against criminal groups threatening public safety and targeting critical national assets.
