POLICE ARREST TWO OVER KIDNAP OF FOUR-YEAR-OLD BOY IN ADAMAWA

The Adamawa State Police Command has apprehended two suspected kidnappers linked to the abduction of a four-year-old boy in Numan Local Government Area of the state.
In a statement released on Friday, the command’s spokesperson, SP Suleiman Nguroje, said the child’s father, Umar Ibrahim of Ngballang village in Numan LGA, reported the incident to the police on March 2, 2026.
According to the statement, Ibrahim informed the police that his son, Ramadan, went out to play on March 1 but failed to return home, and initial efforts by the family to locate him were unsuccessful.

“Days later, the complainant received a call from an unknown number informing him that his son had been kidnapped, with the caller demanding a ransom of Eight Hundred Thousand Naira (₦800,000),” the statement said.
Following an investigation by operatives attached to the Numan Division, two suspects — Sadiq Ali, 19, and Shitu Umar, 23 — both residents of Lafiya in Lamurde Local Government Area, were arrested in connection with the crime.
Police said the suspects confessed to the offence during interrogation, describing it as an organised criminal act.
The command added that the case has been handed over to the Anti-Kidnapping Unit for further investigation and necessary action.
The Adamawa State Police Command also reassured residents of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property, urging the public to stay alert and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station.
