By Adeniyi Onaara
occurred on Kara bridge, inward Ibadan, on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, resulted in one death.
Seven vehicles, including a container-laden truck, were involved in the multiple accidents, which halted free movement and stranded motorists and travelers on the ever-busy road.
According to Ahmed Umar, the Ogun State Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), a traffic hawker was killed in the unfortunate accidents, and emergency responders are still rescuing those injured.
Umar blamed the accidents on the truck’s brake failure, which caused the driver to ram into the vehicles in front of him from behind.
Similarly, Nosa Okunbor, a spokesperson for the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), stated that rescue efforts are still underway at the accident sites.
The situation, combined with ongoing road repairs, has resulted in heavy traffic on the expressway, with scores of motorists struggling to find their way out of Lagos.
