SUPER EAGLES SUFFER HUMILIATING HOME DEFEAT TO GUINEA BISSAU
The Super Eagles of Nigeria were defeated by the Wild Dogs of Guinea Bissau in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The Wild Dogs triumphed over Eagles in a 1-0 thriller on Friday thanks to a goal from Mama Balde in the 29th minute.
The win comes as a major blow to the Eagles, who have lost their position at the top of Group A. Guinea Bissau now has seven points to lead the group after earning three points from the victory, while Nigeria maintains the six points they had entering the game in order to keep their hopes of competing in next year’s continental cup in Ivory Coast alive.
