
JUST IN: SHETTIMA, 36 GOVS IN NEC MEETING OVER PALLIATIVE

The National Economic Council (NEC) meeting is currently holding at the Council Chambers of the State House in Abuja on Thursday.
The meeting is attended by the Director General of the Nigerian Governors’ Forum, all 36 of the Federation’s state governors, as well as stakeholders from the World Bank and other government agencies.
The second meeting of the Council is being presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima, is expected to deliberate on the reviewed palliative package for Nigerians following the removal of petrol subsidy and the recent hike in petrol prices as a result of market forces.
President Bola Tinubu gave the order to conduct the review, which should be the main item on the agenda of the meeting.
The media has been excused from the meeting and it is being held behind closed doors.
