SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER MOTHER’S COMPLAINT OVER JAMB DATA BREACH
A Nigerian mother, Iphie, who raised concerns on her X account about an alleged violation of her daughter’s data protection rights by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, has revealed that the suspect involved has been taken into custody.
She revealed this in a statement posted on her X account on Monday, expressing gratitude to #JAMBHQ for their quick response and revealing that the suspect is currently in custody.
She wrote, “The guy has been arrested. He and his accomplice, the guy who registered my child, are currently in custody!
“Thanks to #JAMBHQ for your swift response. I’m grateful!”
Iphie had earlier on Saturday accused a staff member at a JAMB registration center of contacting her using the phone number linked to her daughter’s JAMB profile.
In response, JAMB promised to conduct a thorough inquiry and reaffirmed its dedication to protecting her daughter’s personal information.
The examination body, however, promised to act decisively against the accused person and any collaborators.
