PERM SEC MEETS COMMISSION STAFF, SEEKS BETTER WORK SYNERGY IN LAGOS
In order to create a skilled workforce that is disciplined and productive, Mr. Akinbode Obadina, Permanent Secretary of the Civil Service Commission, has stressed the need for cooperation and teamwork.
During an interactive session on Monday, the Permanent Secretary spoke to Commission employees and emphasised the importance of work synergy in achieving organisational goals and mandates.
He said that the interactive session will provide a forum for learning about some of the obstacles preventing staff members from carrying out their tasks in an efficient manner so that those obstacles can be addressed.
Mr. Obadina emphasised the necessity of strengthening cooperation and fostering a culture of teamwork in the day-to-day execution of the Commission’s mandate.
Obadina acknowledged the staff members’ contributions and assistance in advancing the Commission, but he also credited the staff’s combined efforts and support for the victories and accomplishments that have been reported in the previous two months since his redeployment to the Commission.
He urged the Commission employees to carry out their responsibilities with greater diligence, stressing that each employee’s schedule is vital to the realisation of the organisation’s overarching goal.
Highlights of the meeting included the Heads of Directorates’ words of inspiration for staff members and their pledge to recommit to the execution and realisation of the Commission’s programmes through enhanced service delivery.
Using the occasion to raise awareness among Commission employees about voluntary blood donation, representatives of the Lagos State Blood Transfusion Services, led by Mrs. Temitope Balogun, Head of Donor Education Department, also solicited support from them.
She listed some advantages of giving blood on a regular basis, including encouraging more people to donate, lowering the chance of a heart attack, and letting donors know how they are doing medically.
