OPINION: ACCELERATED PASSAGE OF THE NATIONAL ANTHEM BILL, NATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Alh Idris Ismail
We have heard about National Anthem. The swiftness and the speed with which it was passed was interesting and I think it’s important we apply the same speed in every over thing we do as we move on.
Honestly it’s a good spirit. Having seen National Anthem replacement becoming successful and enforced, the next is fixing our teething situations in Nigeria with similar speed.
I urge the National Assembly, the Presidency, the Judiciary, the state Governors and all stakeholders not to drop this spirit and speed in addressing other sectors and areas of the economy as stated below and beyond;
Can we speedily check cost of food just like we did National Anthem
Can we speedily check cost of transportation just as we did National Anthem
Can we speedily check living wages just as we did national anthem
Can we speedily check insecurities just like we did National Anthem
Can we speedily check economy and it’s painful effects on the citizens just like we did National Anthem
Can we speedily check assess the public opinion just as we did National Anthem
Can we speedily check possiblity of addressing unemployment rates amongst young graduates just as we did National Anthem
Can we check possiblity of expediting action on Local Government autonomy just as we did National Anthem
