
PARIS 2024: AMUSAN, BRUME TOP TEAM NIGERIA’S 35 TRACK-AND-FIELD ATHLETE LIST
Tobi Amusan, Ese Brume and Chukwuebuka Enekwechi top the roster of the 35 athletes that will represent Nigeria in the track and field event at the forthcoming Paris 2024 Olympics scheduled to get underway from July 26 until August 10.
According to a Press Release signed by the Athletics Federation of Nigeria, AFN’s, Technical Director, Samuel Onikeku, the list contains 18 names for the women and 17 names for the men athletes.”
The men’s team consists of Edose Ibadin, Sikiru Adeyemi, Kayinsola Ajayi, Chukwuebuka Enekwechi, Chidi Okezie, Alaba Akintola, and Dubem Amene.
Others are Godson Brume, Ezekiel Nathaniel, Ifeanyi Ojeli, Usheoritse Itsekiri, Chinecherem Nnamdi, Udodi Onwuzurike, and Israel Okon.
For the women category, aside from Amusan and Brume, Patience Okon-George, Ruth Uzoro, Prestina Ochonogor, Olayinka Olajide, Temitope Adeshina, Justina Eyakpobeyan, Rosemary Chukwuma and Favour Ofili have also been listed.
Others include Obiageri Amechi, Chioma Onyekwere, Ashley Anumba, Ella Onojuvwevwo, Tima Godbless, Esther Joseph, Oyesade Olatoye and Omolara Ogunmakinju.
Nigeria track and field athletes will compete in the 100m for men and women, as well as in 200m, 100m hurdles, high jump, long jump, 400m, 800m, shot put, discus, hammer throw, javelin, four of the five relays, among others in the 2024 Paris.
