JUST-IN: AMAEWHULE-LED ASSEMBLY GIVES FUBARA 7 DAYS ULTIMATUM TO REPRESENT 2024 BUDGET
Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been given a seven-day ultimatum by the Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Martin Amaewhule, to bring the 2024 budget to the House.
The order comes after a few months, on Monday, during the pro-Wike House’s first sitting. In parallel, the other house, presided over by Victor Oko-Jumbo, is also in session.
While Edison Ehie, his current Chief of Staff, was Speaker of the House, Fubara had previously presented the budget before the House, which was supportive of him.
The budget projections were approved by Ehie and the other lawmakers who supported Fubara, and the governor then signed the bill into law. According to him, its goals are to alleviate socioeconomic inequality in the state and to advance inclusive growth and economic development.
