JUST IN: SUSPECTED GUNMEN ABDUCT 11 STUDENTS, PASSENGERS IN ENUGU
On the Enugu-Abakaliki federal highway in Enugu state’s Amechi-Idodo axis, eleven people have been kidnapped by alleged gunmen.
Among the dead were post-secondary students from Ebonyi State’s universities who were traveling by commercial bus from Awka, Anambra State, to Abakaliki, the state’s capital.
Tuesday’s kidnapping occurred when the attackers stopped the bus in Nkanu East Local Government Area’s Amechi-Idodo neighborhood.
This place has become a kidnapping hotspot recently.
One of the victims’ relatives disclosed that the kidnappers had gotten in touch with them and demanded a N30 million ransom.
The Enugu State Police command is yet to react to the development as of the time of filing this report.
