CRIME: ARMED ROBBERS RAPE TWO FEMALE FIRST-YEAR STUDENTS IN OGUN
Two female students at the Ogun State-owned Tai Solarin University of Education in Ijagun, Ijebu Ode, were sexually assaulted by armed robbers.
It was learned that on Monday, thieves sexually assaulted two female first-year students at the school.
The burglars apparently broke into the apartments of the students at around 12:30 in the morning.
According to a source at the school, the armed suspects made the pupils give up their phones and other possessions before escorting them to an incomplete building where they alternately sexually assaulted them.
The incident in the state capital of Abeokuta was confirmed by Omolola Odutola, a police spokesperson for the state.
āThe incident was reported at the Igbeba Police Division at about 10 am. Our operatives immediately combed the area in search of the suspects. Efforts are in top gear to arrest everyone involved in the crime.
āIn the meantime, the survivors have been taken to the school clinic for treatment,ā she said.
