PARIS 2024: D’TIGRESS FACE JAPAN IN LAST PRE-OLYMPICS FRIENDLY
Nigeria’s senior women’s basketball team, D’Tigress will face Japan in their last pre-Olympics friendly in Lille, France on Wednesday (today).
Completesports.com learnt that the team arrived Lille on Tuesday, July 23 for the preparatory game.
D’Tigress will be willing to end their barren run after losing their first two friendlies to Germany and Serbia.
D’Tigress lost by a 14-point margin,77- 63, to Germany in their first friendly last Friday and suffered another defeat, losing by a 8-point margin, 70-62, in the second friendly against Serbia, on Sunday, July 21.
D’Tigress will be making their third appearance at the Olympics in Paris following their outings in Athens 2004 and Tokyo 2020.
They failed to get beyond the group stages at both editions.
D’Tigress will face a tough challenge in Group B, which includes powerhouse teams such as Australia, Canada, and host nation France—all ranked in the top 7 of the FIBA world rankings.
