Varsity suspends registrar for alleged insubordination, deceit
The Governing Council of the Imo State University, Owerri, has suspended the Registrar of the institution, Dr. Emeka Ejinkeonye, for six months.
In an exclusive interview on Thursday, Njoku-Obi, revealed that Ejinkonye was asked to go on suspension as a result of alleged insubordination, treachery, stubbornness and lack of respect for the constituted authority.
The IMSU spokesman explained that the Council had stated that such behaviour was not expected from an officer of his cadre, who occupied a position that required trust and high level of transparency.
Njoku-Obi equally disclosed that the Council appointed Mrs. Rose Ogbu to act as the registrar of the institution pending the expiration of the Ejinkonye’s suspension in order not to create an administrative vacuum.
Ogbu, until her recent appointment, was a Deputy Registrar with the institution.
