QUICK RESPONSE WING TO BE DEPLOYED BY NAF TO NORTH-WEST

Hasan Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff, has revealed intentions to send a Quick Response Wing to the nation’s northwest in order to strengthen military presence in towns that are at risk.

A prompt reaction In the Air Force, a “wing” designates a group of soldiers who are ready to deploy in an emergency.

In a statement released on Tuesday, Group Captain Kabiru Ali, the Deputy Director of Public Relations and Information for the Nigerian Air Force, said that Abubakar made this revelation while on an operational tour of the 213 Forward Operating Base in Katsina State and the Air Component of Operation HADARIN DAJI.

He revealed that “The NAF has intensified airstrikes against criminal elements in the North-West and is working to deploy a Quick Response Wing to increase military presence in vulnerable communities.

“He stressed the need for a comprehensive strategy to achieve lasting peace, noting that kinetic actions alone cannot eliminate insurgency.”

According to Ali, Abubakar also gave Diko Radda, the state governor, his men’s word that they would keep defending the farmers in the state.
