SELFIE GONE WRONG: ASAKE FACES BACKLASH FOR DAMAGING FAN’S IPHONE 16
Asake, a Nigerian singer, is under criticism after an event in Germany that sparked intense online debate.
Netizens were shocked and incredulous when Asake, who just performed at a concert, allegedly destroyed a fan’s iPhone 16 Pro Max during an after-party.
Videos of the fan trying to get a picture with the widely admired Asake have been doing the rounds on social media.
Unexpectedly, the singer is said to have destroyed the fan’s phone by smashing it against the ground. The admirer declared his undying love for Asake in spite of this regrettable event.
The altercation’s video went viral and sparked criticism from a range of online users.
Numerous people expressed disapproval of Asake’s actions, calling into question his level of respect—particularly for his idolizing supporters.
One user, known as Superstar Radio Killer, questioned, “Can he do that to a white guy?”
Another user, Rima Harts, condemned the action as “gutter behavior.”
Users Blunt Tace Okemiri and Scrummy Isaac questioned if Asake would have behaved the same way toward a white fan, drawing attention to the incident’s racial overtones.
“Would he do that if that fan was a white boy? No! Black men and power show on their fellow blacks is never-ending,” one user stated.
