Read Time:1 Minute, 2 Second

A deadly multi-vehicle accident at Second Rainbow Bus Stop along the Oshodi-Apapa Expressway in Lagos has resulted in the deaths of two individuals.

According to a statement from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), signed by Permanent Secretary Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, the agency received an emergency call and promptly activated its response team.

The Eagle response team arrived at the crash site at 5:52 PM on Sunday, where they encountered a serious accident involving a MAN truck carrying groundnut oil, a Honda Accord, and two commercial buses.

Preliminary investigations revealed that the MAN truck experienced a mechanical failure while traveling at high speed, leading to a loss of control and subsequent collision with other vehicles. Tragically, two adult males lost their lives in the crash, while several others sustained injuries and received medical attention from LASAMBUS.

The statement noted that all four vehicles involved suffered significant damage. Fortunately, a coordinated effort by first responders allowed for a swift resolution of the situation.

By the time this report was filed, the accident scene had been cleared, and the damaged vehicles had been towed to Festac Police Station. The bodies of the deceased were handed over to police officers and transported to the mortuary.
