LAGOS GOVT EMPOWERS ANOTHER 280 BENEFICIARIES WITH FINANCIAL AID
The Lagos State Government has presented cheques to another set of 280 beneficiaries, recently at Alausa, Secretariat, Ikeja.
This, according to the state government is in continuation of the ‘Sanwo-Olu Listens’ programme.
Addressing the recipients, the Special Adviser, Office of Political, Legislative and Civic Engagement, Dr. Afolabi Abiodun Tajudeen said that this is the 6th edition of the programme this year.
Afolabi stated that the programme is another crucial step in the Lagos State Government’s ongoing effort in promoting financial inclusion, reduce poverty and support the residents across the State.
He added that the financial aid is also part of the Government’s broader initiative to provide the residents of Lagos with resources needed to stabilise their businesses and livelihood in the face of the ongoing economic challenges.
Afolabi further said that another edition of the programme is expected in the coming month with more Lagosians set to benefit from the initiative.
One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Jolotinwon Ayanfe while expressing his gratitude, said he was surprised when he received a call to pick up his cheque today, and getting this financial aid has erased all his doubts about the initiative. The fund, he added, will be used to take care of his ailing health.
Appreciating the Lagos State Government, another beneficiary, Mrs. Falana Motunrayo stated that the financial aid could not have come at a better time, especially as the economic downturn is biting harder, adding that the fund will be used to boost her small-scale business.
Present at the cheque presentation ceremony was the Permanent Secretary, OPL&CE, Engr. Ms. Sholabomi Shasore, Directors and Staff of the Office.
