A suspected thief, Ifeanyi Okonkwo, was caught by the Lagos State Police Command’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) taking a Samsung A15 cell phone from a restaurant on Kafi Street, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos.
On Monday, RRS verified this in a message posted on its official X handle, @Lagos767.
According to the report, the person who took the phone on November 7 was caught on Thursday.
“The suspect was at the restaurant to purchase food but ended up stealing the phone belonging to another customer.
“Unknown to him, he was captured on CCTV while taking the phone on the counter.
“Not realising that people were on the lookout for him, he was at the same restaurant on December 5 where he was spotted and promptly apprehended by RRS operatives near the scene,” it stated.
The phone has been recovered from the buyer, according to RRS.
