POLICE RESCUE FOUR VICTIMS TIED DOWN BY KIDNAPPERS IN EDO STATE

Four people who had been abducted and bound by kidnappers in Edo State have been freed by Okada Division police officers.

An announcement from the Edo State Command’s Police Public Relations Office, SP Moses Yamu, reported that after receiving a distress call regarding a kidnapping occurrence along Okada-Ayekun camp via Utese, the victims were recovered on Sunday at approximately 2:00 PM.

Following a gunfight, the victims—David Ayanbode, 60; Elizabeth Akpoyomare, 40; Excel Akpoyomare, 10; and Flourish Akpoyomare, 8—were recovered unharmed, according to the statement.

“The kidnappers succumbed to the superior firepower of the Police and fled leaving their victims who were tied down. The victims have been reunited with their families while efforts to arrest the fleeing suspects is ongoing,” the statement added.
