BANDIT LEADER, DOGO ISAH, KILLED IN KADUNA FOREST CLASH
On January 7, 2025, a gang of remorseful bandits in Kachia Forest violently confronted and executed Kachalla Dogo Isah, one of the most infamous bandit leaders in Kaduna State.
Isah’s crew got into a fight when they tried to take cattle from a camp run by Kachalla Musa, a former bandit leader who had just joined a government-sponsored peace effort.
Dogo Isah and two of his men were killed as the conflict turned into a gunfight.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama confirmed the details of the conflict, stating, “The violence erupted as Isah’s group tried to raid the cattle camp, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire.”
Due to his involvement in cattle rustling, attacks on security guards, and other illegal activities in the Kachia and Kajuru districts, Dogo Isah had been a significant security problem in the area.
Instability in the area had been exacerbated by his refusal to participate in peace initiatives.
Although it emphasizes the continued dangers faced by individuals quitting banditry, Dogo Isah’s passing signifies a notable decline in banditry in Kaduna.
Isah’s cousin Tukur Sharme was also killed in a similar conflict with remorseful bandits in September 2024.
