SPEED DARLINGTON’S BAIL APPLICATION APPROVED, SAYS LAWYER
Famous nigerian singer, darlington achakpo, also known as speed darlington, has been reportedly arraigned in court and granted bail.
One of his lawyers, deji adeyanju, shared this information in a post on x.com on wednesday.
Adeyanju wrote, “Police finally arraigns Speed Darlington in court.
“Bail application moved and granted. We are trying to perfect same.”
Last week, speed darlington petitioned the deputy inspector general of police, force intelligence bureau in abuja, dig dasuki galadanchi, demanding compliance with a court order regarding his continued detention.
The singer’s lawyer, rosemary e. hamza, from the chambers of deji adeyanju & partners, stressed that the court order issued by justice m.s. liman on december 23, 2024, compelled the police to charge speed darlington within 48 hours or release him unconditionally.
Speed darlington was originally arrested in october 2024 over allegations of defamation and cyberstalking against burna boy.
He was arrested in lagos and later transferred to abuja, where he was detained by the igp’s intelligence response team in the guzape area of abuja.
After his release from police custody, he was re-arrested in november while performing at a show in owerri, imo state, just days after his return to the country.
