The police have urged citizens to report any instances of extortion by constabulary officers, reiterating their commitment to addressing corruption within the force.

This was stated by the spokesperson for the Kano State Command, SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, during the parade of a constabulary officer at the command’s headquarters in Bompai, Kano.

Kiyawa said the appeal was made in response to growing concerns over allegations of misconduct by constabulary officer Ado Abba, who was accused of extorting money from the public.

He further explained that CP Salman Dogs Garba of the Kano State Police Command has implemented measures to identify and remove corrupt elements within the force.

The officer in question had been dismissed following multiple reports of extortion by the public. Kiyawa urged residents to report any constabulary officers involved in extortion so that appropriate action can be taken.
