GUNMEN KILL TWO POLICE OFFICERS IN YOBE
The Yobe State Police Command has reported the deaths of two police officers at the Kolere Police Outpost in Fune Local Government Area.
The first officer, DSP Ali Pindar, was killed in late January 2025 by suspected criminals.
Before his death, DSP Pindar had successfully arrested a prominent gang leader and transferred the suspect to the Damagum Divisional Police Headquarters, where the suspect was arraigned and later granted bail.
The second fatality occurred on February 9, when DSP Jantuku Philibus, the officer in charge of the outpost, was killed while trying to apprehend a suspect.
DSP Philibus managed to kill one of the attackers before being overpowered and fatally injured.
The command’s Public Relations Officer, SP Dungus Abdulkarim, has confirmed the events.
